Blood tests

Bloods tests must be requested by a GP in the surgery. If you have a consultant bloods test request, please email a copy of this request to info@rahenygp.ie  to ensure we can perform all of the requested tests.

Certain specific tests are no longer provided in Beaumont Hospital Lab.

Chronic Disease Management

We now offer a comprehensive Chronic Disease Management Programme.

This is a free monitoring service for GMS/DVC holders who suffer from conditions such as Heart disease, Asthma, Hypertension, COPD, Stroke or TIA.

If you would like to participate in this programme, please discuss your eligibility with one of our doctors or nurse at your next appointment.

Cervical smear appointments are available on Thursday afternoon with our nurse.

Contraceptive Consultation

GP assessment to discuss appropriate contraceptive options.

We participate in the HSE free access to contraception programme.

Vaccinations

We offer a comprehensive childhood vaccination programme.

We also offer seasonal vaccinations e.g Flu, Covid, Pneumonia

We also offer shingles/chickenpox vaccinations

Womens Health

We have 2 female GPs who have extensive experience in Menopause management, Pessary fitting and removal, Intrauterine Coil insertion and removal.

LARC

Long Acting Reversible Contraception is a reliable form of contraceptive cover. 

We provide consultations and perform insertion of Intra-uterine coils (mirena/kyleena/copper), implanon devices and perform Depo injections.

Men's Health assessment

Dr. Murphy provides consultations including well man checks which cover an array of health issues specific to men of all ages.

Antenatal and Postnatal care

We provide combined antenatal care alongside your maternity provider.

We participate in HSE combined Antenatal care Programme

Ear syringing

Our Nurse offers a service which removes wax and debris from your ears. 

You will be asked to see a doctor before proceeding to wax removal to ensure there is no infection or contra-indication to performing the procedure.

Blood Pressure monitoring

24 hour Blood Pressure monitors are the Gold standard for assessing blood pressure control.

These are available free of charge to GMS/DVC holders and can be fitted by our nurse.

STI Screening

This service is provided for both male and female patients as required.
